Essential oils can help improve sleep quality

Anyone who has ever been diagnosed with depression has certainly experienced periods of poor sleep, anxiety, unhappiness, depression, and worry. Feelings of depression and anger, along with a strong sense of loss, can last for weeks or longer at a time.


Depression does not happen instantly, it is the process of the brain not having a good rest for a period of time or a long time. Depressed patients had decreased gray matter density in the hippocampus, cingulate gyrus, amygdala on the left, and dorsomedial prefrontal cortex on the right. The deterioration of brain structure is accompanied by a decline in cognitive function.


Cognitive slowing is often accompanied by decreased alertness, flexibility, persistence, and distraction. We can improve our sleep status, use social interaction and exercise to regulate emotions, and increase external stimulation to improve depression. Smelling the aroma of aromatic essential oils can also affect the limbic system to improve mood. The aromatic scent quickly relaxes the mind, thus improving the quality of sleep.
