What do you need to be aware when using Essential Oil?

Essential oils are the essences extracted from natural components of plants. Different plants have different natural effects. Therefore, no matter what you think is common or you have never seen it, it is best to know what to pay attention to before you use it, so as not to cause any harm. The following are my personal views and experiences on the above topics, which I would like to share with you:

1. Test before use: When you use some essential oils that you have never used before, remember to do a skin test first. Apply the oil to the inside of the arm and check after 15 minutes to see if there is any redness or itching. If there is, immediately add carrier oil to dilute the part, or wipe the part dry with a dry cloth.

2. Dilute essential oils: Similarly, when you use unused essential oils, remember to dilute them with carrier oil first to avoid redness and itching. The dilution ratio can start from 1 drop of essential oil to 8 drops of essential oil, and then reduce the amount of dilution.

3. Irritation: due to the compounds contained in essential oils, such as phenol, benzyl alcohol, monoterpenes, diterpenes, sesquiterpenes, esters, alcohols and terpenes, etc. Some ingredients may have a pungent feeling when applied directly to the skin. This is also because they contain a high level of antibacterial and antibacterial ingredients, such as oregano essential oil, eucalyptus essential oil, and migraine. Rosemary essential oil and more.

4. Photosensitivity: Some essential oils are sensitive to sunlight, such as citrus essential oils, which contain limonene, so it is recommended not to expose to the sun within two hours after using such essential oils.

5. When accidentally touching the eyes: When the essential oil accidentally enters the eyes, do not wash it with water, because water and oil cannot be mixed, and it will push the oil deeper, so it is necessary to use pure natural carrier oil Dilute the eyes, or wipe the eye area with a dry cloth.

6. Original color of essential oils: Some essential oils themselves have natural pigments extracted from their plants, such as blue tansy, patchouli, vetiver, lemon, sweet orange, myrrh, etc. Once accidentally dripped on clothes, it is difficult to clean Lost. So you must understand it before using it.

7. Dilution for children and babies: Children's skin is very clean, flawless, supple and elastic, so don't apply the essential oils commonly used by adults on their skin. The ratio of dilution is as follows:

*0-1 years old: 1 drop of essential oil to 8 drops of carrier oil

*2-6 years old: 1 drop of essential oil to 3 drops of carrier oil

*7-11 years oldundefined : 1 drop of essential oil to 1 drop of carrier oil

*Over 12 years old: no need to add carrier oil

8. Try to avoid using it on the wound: Because the essential oil may seep into the wound before the wound is healed, it is more likely to irritate the nervous system under the skin, which may cause pain, red itching, numbness, etc.

9. Essential oils for internal use: If you are using therapeutic grade essential oils, then when you want to add 2 drops of lemon essential oil to drinking in water, you must use a glass vessel, because pure natural essential oils can dissolve the chemical components in plastic cups It is pulled out, and finally leads to drinking the chemicals into the stomach when drinking.

The above sharing is the safety precautions you need to pay attention to when you use therapeutic grade essential oils. As for other grades of essential oils, I will definitely not use them on myself and my family, so I cannot give any advice about it.
